Vancouver pregnancy center to reopen under new management

   VANCOUVER, Wash. — A pregnancy resource outreach that closed here last June is reopening this month under the new management of another Clark County agency.
    A formal grand opening will take place 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 16, including a live remote broadcast by KPDQ-FM radio talk host Georgene Rice. Ribbon-cutting will take place at 5 p.m.
    Options 360, which already operates pregnancy centers in Battle Ground and Orchards, is launching a third center at the site of the former Vancouver Pregnancy Resource Center at 2128 E. Mill Plain Blvd.
   After serving the needs of thousands of clients over the past 25 years, that longtime program closed last June because of funding problems, but turned its building over to Options 360, which has been preparing since then for its reopening.
    The new center will offer the same confidential services as the other two Options 360 facilities, including:
   • Pregnancy testing by qualified nurses;
   • A limited ultrasound exam with pregnancy confirmation to let clients khow far along there are in their pregnancy;
   • Caring, confidential staff and volunteers who will help clients make an informed decision, without judgment;
   • Help and assistance for those dealing with the aftermath of abortion.
   • support throughout pregnancy and beyond;
   • Community referrals , as needed.
    Options 360 has its roots in the Vancouver PRC. Renee Wooten had been a volunteer in the Vancouver center and joined with Jeanne Rubino in 2003 to open the Battle Ground Pregnancy Resource Center. Changing its name to Options 360, the agency opened a second clinic several years later in Orchards, right next to a Planned Parenthood office. Options 360 also has a business office in the upstairs ministry complex at U.S. Digital, 1400 N.E. 136th, but does not currently see clients at that location.
    The Battle Ground clinic is at 1706 W. Main St., Suite 115 and the Orchards location is 5500 N.E. 109th Court, Suite C. Those two locations had a total of 2,479 client visits during 2009.
    Deleana Day, development director for Options 360, said many of the volunteers who worked at the Vancouver PRC will return to that location under the new management.
