Northwest Christian foundation hits nearly $5 million in assets

LAKE OSWEGO -- A Christian public foundation that seeks to channel funds to a wide range of ministries is seeing big growth, has added more than 50 recipient organizations to total about 135, and plans to expand to the Seattle area.

“Praise God for all of His blessings,” said Mike Stice, executive director of the Northwest Christian Community Foundation. “Through contributions received from new and existing donors, NCCF has experienced an exciting 64 percent increase in assets, reaching nearly $5 million this year. We look forward, with a servant’s heart, to continual growth as we strive to help individuals and families achieve their charitable goals and visions.”

The foundation, which received more than $2.2 million in contributions this year, has distributed more than $382,000 to 70 different organizations throughout the Northwest.

NCCF directors have approved listing 51 Christian organizations as recipient partners. Some of them are: Agros Found-ation, Christian Missionary Foundation, Counsel & Capital, Eternal Perspec-tive, Focus on the Family, Frontier Missions, Heart of Hope Ministries International, House of Ruth, International Students Inc., L.I.V.E. Ministries, Master’s Image Productions, North Portland Bible College, Northwest Leader-ship Associates, Puppets & Praise Ministries, San Jose Christian College, Santiam Christian Schools, Sher-wood Community Friends Church and University Christian Fellowship.

Although NCCF was originally chartered in Seattle in 1985, it didn't become well-established until the mid-1990s when it became headquartered in the Portland area; offices today are in Lake Oswego. Efforts to expand in the Seattle area were launched this summer. an informational luncheon at the Washington Athletic Club.
